Tips for brightening someone’s day……Random acts of kindness are good for your health. That feeling that washes over you when you have done a kind act or even thought about something kind isn’t just in your head. When you are kind you release hormones that contribute to your mood and overall wellbeing-this is what gives you your warm fuzzy feeling when you help someone.
There are millions of ways you can brighten someone’s day, but let’s start with the basics:
- Smile every chance you get at strangers
- Leave someone a quick note (Have a great day, you are amazing, thanks for all you do)
- Lend a helping hand (open a door, pick something up someone has dropped, let in the car waiting in the queue)
- Start a conversation while in a waiting in line
- Send a text message (Have a great day!!!)
- Give a compliment (your top is beautiful, I like your shoes, you are so kind)
- Pay for someone’s parking, or toll or coffee
- Give someone your seat on the bus or train
- Send a care package to someone
- Offer a tradesman a coffee, tea or water
- Leave a small gift for the post man or rubbish bin collector
- Make your plates easy for the waitress too take from the table
